Privacy Policy
Dinnrd is built on a simple principle: your data is yours. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what your rights are.
What We Collect
When you create an account or join the waitlist, we collect:
- Email address — to send you account information, the TestFlight invite when it's ready, and product updates.
- Pantry items — the ingredients, quantities, and expiry dates you add to the app.
- Meal plans and recipes — the dinners you plan and any recipes you save.
- Grocery lists — the shopping lists the app generates from your meal plans.
- Payment information — billing details processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Usage data — anonymized analytics about how you interact with the app (page views, feature usage), collected via PostHog.
How We Use It
We use the data we collect to:
- Power the core features — meal planning, pantry tracking, grocery list generation.
- Send you the TestFlight invite and product updates (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- Process subscription payments securely through Stripe.
- Understand how people use the app so we can improve it.
We don't sell your data. We don't use your pantry contents, meal plans, or grocery lists to target you with advertising.
Third-Party Processors
We work with a small set of trusted services to run Dinnrd:
- Supabase — authentication and data storage. Your account data and app content are stored on Supabase's infrastructure.
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all billing and stores your payment details under their own privacy and security standards.
- PostHog — product analytics. We use PostHog to understand aggregate usage patterns. PostHog collects anonymized session and event data.
- Netlify — hosting and serverless functions. The Dinnrd website and waitlist backend run on Netlify's infrastructure.
Each of these processors operates under their own privacy policies and data protection practices. We choose processors that take data security seriously.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal or financial record-keeping purposes.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access and export your data at any time through your account settings.
- Delete your account and all associated data by emailing support@dinnrd.com.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in any email we send.
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Cookies
The Dinnrd website uses minimal cookies for authentication (to keep you signed in) and anonymized analytics. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Children
Dinnrd is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
